Professional Odor Removal Services
Perhaps you are relocating to a property with a nuisance odor. Or, maybe you smell a lingering stench after a restoration disaster. No matter the scenario, removing the foul aroma needs to be addressed. While store-bought cleaning products and DIY may work in mild cases, they only mask the smell temporarily in more severe situations. When you have a more stubborn odor it usually takes specialized equipment and properly trained people to use it safely for effective odor reduction or complete deodorization.
At Hallmark Mitigation and Construction LLC, we have deodorized many different types of structures, from numerous sources, using many different techniques. We do not have a one size fits all approach. Rather, we work with our customers and explain the pros and cons of various techniques depending upon factors such as current occupancy, source of odor, replacement vs restoration, short duration shock treatments vs ongoing long term solutions or a combination thereof.
Sources of Odors
Hallmark Mitigation & Construction recognizes that deodorization is pointless and ineffective without pinpointing the source of the odor first. Our experience has taught us that a majority of odors arise from the following sources:
Smoke
After a fire, smoke damage permeates every nook and cranny. Cleaning visible damage alone will not rid of the hidden smoke behind walls, cabinets, and other structures in your property. Our odor removal tecnicians assess the type of fire and the resulting damage to develop the best plan for deodorization.
Cigarette
While you may think cigarette odor is foul, you may not realize that it is also incredibly dangerous to your health. Third-hand smoke latches on to surfaces and has been linked to cancer, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We deodorize the environment to protect your health.
Pets
Life would not be complete without the companionship of our furry friends. However, that is not to say that man’s best friend doesn’t come with a fair share of nuisance smells. Beyond dust, dander, and pet hair, odors from the litter box, urine, or emesis cling to carpets, furniture, linens, and clothing. Hallmark can help.
Urine
Urine is one source of odor that is especially potent and not easily masked with temporary solutions. Luckily, Hallmark Mitigation & Construction offers a variety of solutions that will not only make your property smell better, but also eliminate odor from urine completely. Cooking
Smoke from cooking, as well as certain foods, can leave a lasting aroma. While you may enjoy the smell the first time around, the odor becomes unpleasant over time. If you have a lingering cooking odor, we can help. Our professional odor removal and deodorization services improve air quality while eliminating malodors.
Our Advanced Odor Removal & Deodorization Techniques
Each odor originates from a specific source. The first step in addressing the problem is to identify the origin. Depending upon the source – be it pet urine, cigarette smoke, a spill, or disaster – our odor removal techniques will vary.
We only utilize the most advanced and effective deodorization techniques, including:
Ozone has been used by restoration contractors after fires for many years for a reason — it works quickly and effectively when used properly with equipment capable of reaching satisfactory saturation levels. Used improperly, it may create an embedded odor, bleach fabrics, over oxidize natural rubbers, or just not work. The area also has to be unoccupied by people or pets during ozone treatments.
Hydroxl works similar to ozone by oxidizing the odor, only it does so more slowly, and can be used in occupied spaces.
Liquid is great for spot applications and surface treatments.
Chlorine dioxide gas is great when a facility is so large that bringing in enough pieces of equipment to generate ozone or hydroxyls is not cost effective.
Odor absorbers pull a wide range of odor molecules and pollutants from the air.
Sealing is done to areas that have already been deodorized. If your deodorization technician determines that a portion of your property is at risk for return odors, we will apply a sealant to inhibit this from happening.
